A beautiful blonde country singer will be singing the theme song for Sunday Night Football on NBC this fall and it won’t be Faith Hill. Carrie Underwood will be taking over to sing a new version of the song “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” that was performed by Faith Hill for the past six seasons.
Underwood is a six-time Grammy award winner and shot to fame after winning season four of American Idol. She also used to date Cowboys’ QB Tony Romo but is now married to hockey player Mike Fisher.
“Carrie Underwood was our first and only choice to perform the Sunday Night Football opening,” said Sunday Night Football producer Fred Gaudelli. “She’s one of America’s most popular entertainers and the perfect fit for our show.”
